    I Can Sing Again...

Can you hear the joy in each letter above?!!

Almost three weeks ago I woke up at 2am with fever, sore throat, and headache. That all was gone in about 24 hours but left me with a deep cough. You know when you start to sing you take that deep breath. When I tried to sing, I would start coughing.....and coughing....and coughing.  I may not have thought about it too much because I don't sing a lot here at home. (I should!!) But right in the middle of these three weeks,  we had a 10 day revival meeting! I had two choices....sing and have to walk out because of this cough, or not sing and be able to be blessed by the messages. I heard someone say years ago that "Revival is to a believer like a tune-up is to a car!" So I chose not to sing for these meetings. Last evening we had a meaningful Good Friday worship service - and I could sing for the first time in almost three weeks!! I am SO grateful!!

One of our evangelist's messages was titled, "Are There Stones in your Place?"

Luke 19:38, 39, and 40 - The disciples were "joyfully praising God;" this irritated the Pharisees and they told Jesus to rebuke His disciples. Jesus replied,

"I tell you if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out!"

Leave me explain further with this song......

    ~Lest the Rocks Cry Out!

"As I travel through this land all the beauty I behold, from the glory of the mountain to the mysteries untold. How I marvel at the wonders that my God has set in place; I'm reminded He's the only One deserving of my praise!

Chorus: Let the rocks cry out if I won't lift my voice!

All creation shouts the glory of His Name.

Lift your eyes to the skies, see His banner lifted high,

Praise the Name of Jesus Christ

     Lest the rocks cry out!"

Easter Joy to you, my Friends!

    Thank You, Lord, for saving my soul;

Thank You, Lord, for making me whole.

Thank You, Lord, for giving to me

Thy great salvation so rich, and free!

  • It is so beautiful how the message in song can so speak to our heart's need---if we let it. If is a little word but holds such importance.

  • So glad you can praise God again through singing.  I think it such a privilige to be able to Glorify God in this way.....  I'm certainly going to give those rocks some competition.  :)   Happy Easter to you and your family.  HE IS RISEN.  Hallellujah!

  • Great to hear from you!! I know you felt so bad,But I am thankful you are feeling better. To be able to sing God's praises Is so comforting !! May you have a blessed Easter also
Now I think it is soon reuzit~Mt.Joy Gift and thrift~ time :) hmmmmmmmm
Maybe next week ,we will see!

  • So glad you are doing well again! Beautiful post!! God bless

  • Wonderful to know you are feeling better! Great hymn. I did a study once on stones. The Bible speaks of many. Of course, Jesus is the Cornerstone and the Rock of our salvation.

Praise and prayer go hand in hand. Praise the Lord ~ Jesus is Alive!

  • It's good to know that you are feeling better again!!  God knew you were praising Him even if you couldn't sing!!!!

  • @Chearl - It's so good to hear from you again......several days ago I stopped by to visit - are you taking a break from xanga??!!

  • @threejoys - not exactly sure if "a break" is the right thing to call it.  I just need to get myself back into the habit of doing it again.  When we returned from Florida I felt overwhelmed for a while with all the catching up to do and the remodeling of the living room and getting it back in order again.  I am finally feeling "in control" of things again, Earl and I actually hung some pictures yesterday.  So hopefully I will be getting back to xanga soon.
