Luther
Darvin
These men and Nevin (my husband) have known each other since their single days! It has been almost two years since the six of us were together and this is one of those times when the term "like precious faith" is what you experience! It's a meaningful visit when we have the privilege to get together. Luther is one of our ministers and Darvin is a minister at God's Missionary Church.
(We stopped at this store the following day; they are known for their shoes and boots!)
As we were almost ready to have supper together, Luther's wife, Joann, is helping her granddaughter with this apron....which was made by Lauren's great grandmother! I'm guessing that Joann's daughters wore this when they helped with chores in the kitchen! Luther and Joann are parents to our son-in-law, Jere. Jere and Barb were to be here tonight also but Seth was sick and Barb didn't want to expose Lauren to a virus. Late afternoon Darin (our youngest grandson) asked Barb if they are going to Grandpa and Grandma for supper. About 4pm Barb and Jere made the decision that they probably should not come as it did not appear that Seth was improving. So Barb told Darin that they would be staying home. Darin said, "I feel sorry for myself!!!"
We four grandparents said, "That sounds like Darin!!"

Several of us really enjoy breakfast so the following morning we had that blessing together. Dorothy and I are catching up after these two years!
This restaurant also provides a place for the Amish to park their vehicles!
This was a little anniversary get-away for Darvin and Dorothy and it was a blessing for us that they included us in their scheduled stops!

I had fun catching up on your recent posts. I loved Darin's quote, "I feel sorry for myself."
Due to our schedule, I was missing so many entries.
Good Friendships are one of God's greatest Blessings!!!! It was great to see pictures of Darvin and Dorothy again!!! Do not know if Nevin remembers Sam Chupp from Norristown. He and Earl worked together in the bakery. We could not believe that we ran into them at Sarasota while we were there. They are from Michigan, but the last few winters they have stayed in Sarasota.
What a wonderful blessing the Lord had in store for you all, the chance to be reunited after such a long period of time. Sometimes friendships that do not see each other on a more regular basis tend to fade but the true friendships will always be able to pick right up where they left of no matter how long a span of time has separated them.
That was a really neat photograph to see the buggies all lined up in the stalls. When I was younger and lived in CA my family and I traveled across the United States the summer of 1976, we had gone through PA and several other places on our way up to Maryland...we did a big loop of the U.S. I vaguely remember seeing something similar to that picture on our trip when we had passed through Amish communities back then.
Have a blessed week!!
Thanks again for the good times we were able share with you all!
I just want to say you have been such a blessing to me ,Thank you for all your kind words you gave me this week If comforts me in knowing I have such a caring friend
