  •  This was my morning song to my Heavenly Father.  Singing it to Him was a beautiful lift to my day.

"I am Thine, O Lord, I have heard Thy voice,

And it told Thy love to me; But I long to rise in the arms of faith,

And be closer drawn to Thee.

Chorus: Draw me nearer, nearer, blessed Lord, To the cross where Thou hast died; Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer, blessed Lord, To Thy precious , bleeding side."

About a month ago a neighboring church sent out  an invitation  to join them for their annual Women's Spiritual Retreat.  This year their speaker was

www.jennifersands.com  (listen to her video clip)

I would really encourage you to visit her website. What a precious experience I had as I listened to her in our morning session titled - "From Tragedy to Triumph: By God's Grace and for His Glory."

Her life was drastically changed on 9/11 when her husband was killed in the World Trade Center attacks. At that time she was not a believer in Christ. God used that tragedy to bring her to salvation.

We had lunch in their fellowship hall and then had an afternoon session - "Today's Menu Special: In the Kitchen with the Master Chef." She has a lovely way of expressing herself and you do NOT get sleepy or bored!!

I was so very impressed how she gave God all the glory when praise was turned her way. She carefully and wisely does this.

In "A Tempered Faith" she shares her emotional and spiritual struggle after losing her husband.

"A Teachable Faith" she passes on the lessons and biblical truths that God taught her through her everyday experiences. She amazes me - not knowing the Lord before her husband's death and not attending church.

"A Treasured Faith" Jennifer tells of her continuing biblical growth and shares her recent battle with breast cancer. You do not need to read the books in the order she wrote them.

I hope you will have the privilege to hear her speak in person.

As I view the cross on all three books, it reminds me of something I just read. With the cross in front of you, I want to leave you with this Easter reminder and blessing. "Easter is just God's way of saying "I Love You Forever."

I wish you a meaningful Easter day. ~Cordy

  • @boysinheaven - Dear Eve, I can only imagine the deep sorrow you have walked through. You must have learned  amazing ways to touch others' lives. I would love to sit and chat with you in person. I can hardly read your reply above  without crying....as I recall the deep pain I would feel way down deep in my chest - a deepness that only God could heal. (It's been 21 years but one sentence can bring those reminders.) Your radiant face in your picture tells me our Heavenly Father has been faithful in healing your heart. He IS so very faithful! It has been a joy to meet you. ~Cordy

  • Thank you for your sweet comment. I, too, enjoy reading your blog. You and I seem to have much in common, such as not updating very often! Lord bless you.

  • HI Cordy.  Just stopping in to say Hello and to wish you a happy July 4th.  It's been awhile since we've chatted.  Life has been going well and we're enjoying what God has so blessed us with.  Love to you.  Rachel

  • @singingrachel - My dear friend - it was sooo good to hear from you. I just sat down yesterday to update xanga since I hadn't been there since March :( I have really missed my friends. I had a WHOLE LOT to say and found that since I have last been on xanga they have changed their format and I didn't know how to get my pictures on!! I was really disappointed. Nevin can help me but today my girlfriend (she was my maid of honor) was buried. Do you remember I talked about her having leukemia? We wanted to help prepare the meal and serve it as a way to show my love to the family. Nevin and I still didn't get to work together on xanga. So I will save my "long story"  'till I post on there. I was looking for a way to message you but couldn't find that. Thanks for checking in. I, too, am praising the Lord for a life full of blessings. He is faithful even through the hard times as my friend's family is experiencing right now. Blessings on your Tuesday Rachel. Love, Cordy
