    Perpetual Calendar continued…..

On my first perpetual calendar entry my intentions were to show the variety of thoughts that can be used. Rereading my second entry I see I went down memory lane for each page shown. I guess saying goodbye the day before to our family put me into the “Precious Memories tone!”

It amazes and blesses me to see all the different thoughts people had:

    L1020997

Marian is an older friend in my prayer group…..

    L1020998

We work alongside this fun family in our deacon responsibilities….

    L1020995

We had a glorious variety of thoughts throughout these pages to enjoy and treasure each day.

As you’ve seen in my earlier postings also,  included are Bible verses, songs, humor, poems, thought-provoking writings, memories…..

….this is from Donna our daughter-in-law. She also had the date for our stillborn daughter, Christy  Joy, and had a very meaningful reading for that extra special day.

my neighbor – my thanks go right back to her also!

This makes me smile just reading it. Remember this Susie Zoo sticker as I will mention it later. (from my sister)

    And – a Recipe!

This comes from my first Creative Memories Consultant….a lady who introduced me to the joys of scrapbooking! She is now elderly and has chosen to close that chapter of her life. She tucked a note in with her returned card to Barb and Barb passed it on to me. We loved her apple pie….several asking for her recipe. Because she is a dump and pour cook, she put off writing it down until now! She had to purposely sit down and try to think how to explain how she prepares it!!  How I appreciate her time and kindness!

It was special to me to see several dates included especially for my dear husband.

It was very hard for me to know when to stop showing you the pages. I tried to choose the different variety I mentioned and different people in our lives, like neighbors, relatives, friendships from long ago, people we don’t see often, my prayer group, etc.It would be my privilege to show them all to you :)

I DO want to tell you what I read this morning when I turned my page to January 28th.

There is a hand coming from the top right – representing God’s hand. On it in red is the word, “Burden. To the left is a Susie Zoo character running toward that hand.

Then my sister wrote, “Praise be to the Lord, to God my Savior, who DAILY bears my burdens!”

    Psalms 68:19

For me it is a beautiful word picture that is full of meaning and hope!

I had to show you the kindness of my best friend! I was taking the pictures of these pages and they had a mean glare on each one because of the shine of laminating. (If you do this calendar, this step is SO important. It protects the pages very, very well!)

Nevin came to my rescue :) Can you tell he’s particular??! (It is not raining-nor do we get rain under our porch roof!)

I hope you were blessed to see the various ways to express love.

~Wishing you a lovely weekend, Cordy

  • Oh, Cordy these are just so special and precious.  I would love to do this for someone one day.  I just don’t think I know anyone who knows so many people to contribute :) .  What a blessing.  May you have a lovely weekend too.  Always so wonderful to read your posts dear friend.  Blessings, Jill

  • Thank you so much Cordy, these have been wonderful to see, and I think I have the idea down if I may paraphrase here how to do this…. I would go buy the 4×6 cards at the store that are already punched out….send them to those that are participating with the dates on them already (?) or you put the dates on once you get them back (?) then take and have them laminated, buy two rings so they can flip around…..where does one find the little wooden holder that holds the rings?

@buana….the other option is you could make these for church members, family, friends, that are sick….like a 30 day recovery/restoration calendar that way it would be small enough to do yourself or if you had a few people that could help it would not be very much…or someone recovering from surgery….or teenagers going away to college….you could do Inspirational Mom’s calendars for 30 days…Keeper of the home calendars…….Hospice….there are endless possibilities for those that need encouragement!

  • Blessing upon blessing!  I marvel at what a treasure this is everytime I see it! And it’s even more special when I see the picture of your best friend lovingly pouring his time into perfecting the pictures for you to share with us! I was thinking the other day that this calendar is such a testament to all the lives you’ve touched, friendships you’ve made & the love that surrounds you! I don’t think we even know enough people to fill a whole year if someone made one of these for us! I was thinking about your Christy Joy the other day after reading the blog of a friend of mine who had lost their dear son at around that age & I remembered your encouragement to me when we walked through loss… your comfort & encouragment meant so much Cordy! ”Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows.” (2 Corinthians 1:3-5)  Blessings to you Cordy!

  • Just keep showing your Perpetual Calendar. They are a joy to see. I had one assembled for my parents 57th wedding anniversary which they appreciated. Now since they are gone I even enjoy the blessings of reading it. .  . JM74

  • @buana - @Missionfieldof5 - @setapart1979 - I was just really looking forward to asking you to go here  to visit my friend  http://cerwindoris.xanga.com/ .   We had a one day seminar today at our church for ladies with the topic: “Your Attitude Shows.” The morning session was “Complaining Is Not a Fruit of theSpirit.”  This afternoon – “Blessing Your Loved Ones. She was our speaker today. Would you believe she gave EACH of us (approximately 150 ladies!) our own personal calendar. Melissa, you asked me about making them. If any of you are interested in doing this for someone, I would really encourage you to try this one first (you will it in her post.) She gave us 31 cards. Each day you change your card to another encouraging note. Isn’t that so precious of her!!! Anyways, I’m getting off on a bunny trail :) ) – please go to Tuesday, January 25. That day she has  titled “Lots of Preparation.” Scroll until you come to the picture of what our calendar looks like.   After that, please go to the comments. There she explains exactly how to make this.

I was really looking forward to sharing this with you. Maybe the Lord will give you encouragement through this by starting small. My friend, Doris Jean, has 31 cards. You can have 15….with a date on each side. That way you only need 15 people to make a month’s supply. That is how my calendar is….one person did both sides. It makes the “job” look more possible.

Thank you to each for your comments. I just love to encourage any way I can and I hope this might give you some ideas for the future. I know two of you are busy Mommies so maybe this will be chapters away for you. You can tuck the idea in your heart until then. May you all have a wonderful Lord’s Day tomorrow. ~Cordy

  • @JaneMiles74 - Oh my, I can just imagine how precious that is to have their calendar…to read thoughts friends had for them. It sounds like something I would cherish. I most likely won’t show any more of ours. I thought I might use meaningful poems from time to time on here that were given on our calendar. Thanks for visiting!

  • @setapart1979 -   Thank You, Amber, for this scripture – 2 Corinthians 1:3-5. You probably read about Baby Trevor in my other note to you by now. I need to know how to reach out to Doug and Beth. This verse is motivation. I’m so grateful that I could encourage you in some way. It blesses me to hear you say that. Just shows again the faithfulness of God’s Word, doesn’t it. We had an older couple from church that had lost a baby daughter years ahead of us. They came for a short visit and brought a small bouquet of roses….four red ones representing each of us and one white one for Christy. I will never forget that. They had walked the same road we did and did exactly as this verse says….”comforted us wherewith they had been comforted. “

Dawn is so very busy; she has to work because Glenn cannot. I know it would bless Dawn if I would keep Doug and Beth’s little ones (son and daughter.) Mikayla likes to play with my little girl toys. She doesn’t get here often so that makes those items extra special. Maybe that is what I need to do.

I do need to say that we don’t have that many friends either to fill a year! :) Our children took several cards and our grandchildren. My sister took about three also. Because there are dates on each side of the card, you don’t need 365 people – just half of that! :) ) Yes, it is a treasure.

  • @threejoys - Praying for baby Trevor & his family… also for much strength for Dawn & Glenn.  Thank you for sharing this special prayer request with me… I feel so burdened to pray for them.  Blessings to you.

  • I am not receiving notices when a message comes through xanga. I accidently came upon this today and was so encouraged to hear your caring heart. You know a mother’s heart so very well. Trevor’s mommy and daddy just found out last night that they might be able to hold him for the first, since birth,  this weekend!!! Can you imagine the joy of looking forward to that. I have been praying that baby Trevor’s guardian angels have been holding him. They took him off the one machine last night and the doctors are very encouraged and pleased with his progress. I read the update from the hospital over the phone to my sister Connie and we both could hardly talk as we were so full of emotion to hear this good report. I am going to try to message you with the hospital’s updates in case you would care to see this last report and his pictures. THANK YOU for praying for my loved ones.
